The staff and students of Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Student Center will be participating in Global Read Aloud, reported Principal Colette Bozek.
She explained, “As we learn the importance of relationships and recognize the world our children live in (the increasingly global society) it is more important than ever to show our students that they are part of something bigger than themselves, and how to connect with them and learn from one another.”
Beginning in September, students grades K-8 will read books appropriate to their grade levels and use the internet to connect them with other classes around the world reading the same book.
The Rancho Cucamonga Student Center is operating at maximum capacity with 350 students. It is Springs’ only learning center in San Bernardino County and is located at a historic school site that first opened to students in 1916. Recent upgrades include new air conditioning; the buildings will soon be painted and may soon have a new roof.
