Our annual Parent Ignite Conference, designed to ignite parents for the new school year, expanded to two locations with 350 parents and 500 students participating!
Parents were welcomed by our superintendent, Kathleen Hermsmeyer, and Ashley Wiggers, who discussed The Enemy of Homeschooling and also shared about learning styles.
Several breakouts were available for parents to enjoy. Kathleen discussed Braving the Wilderness, Nicole Haynes Roadmap to Reading, Kim Bagby Creating Happy Math Campers, Michelle Sullivan Great Writing, Stephanie Grutzmacher Five Love Languages and Kim Hein and Vondella McCombs Get Your Compass, Get Your Map.
Parents had the opportunity to learn about many of the homeschool program offerings including field trips, academic events, curriculum viewing/lending center, learning centers, CTE/internships and parent certification. Children participated in our camp theme by spending the day on some KumBayAwesome camp crafts and activities including making bracelets, painting rocks and designing origami creations!
We look forward to continuing this development opportunity for our parents and expanding this offering to serve all of our amazing families.
