Magnolia Student Learns Golf through PLAY

Sergio Jandell Tapia-Rodriguez, 7, a 2nd grade student with Springs’ Magnolia Student Center, was introduced to the game of golf through PLAY (Police Leading Active Youth), a free program offered by the Riverside Police Foundation and the Riverside Community Parks Association. Sergio’s mother, Delia Rodriguez, said, “This event is a fun way for kids to try out different sports and get to interact with the police department.”

Magnolia ACE Bella Cantu Receives Fellowship

Springs’ Magnolia Student Center ACE and 2017 Homeschool graduate Bella Cantu received a two-year Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship from Cal State University San Bernardino; her proposed research topic is: Educational challenges resulting from the COVID-19 crisis among minority students and faculty.

Magnolia Virtual Open House, Senior Graduation

June 16, 2020

Springs’ Magnolia Student Center held its first ever virtual Open House which was viewed by many. It featured photographs from the school year of students, staff and schoolwork, with live presentations by teachers.  Seniors also enjoyed a “drive-through” graduation event, which included walking a stage and receiving a graduation certificate, a tassel turn and pomp and circumstance music. Magnolia Teen Wait-Listed for Prestigious Summer Music Program

April 21, 2020

Valeria Duarte, 13, an 8th-grade student at Springs’ Magnolia Academy, is on a waitlist for the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles summer program, the YOLA National Festival. The festival is a two-week summer program for young musicians, offering them an opportunity to learn and perform with world-renowned conductors. Hundreds of young musicians nationwide submit auditions for the festival. Continue reading

Magnolia Teen Marks 10 Years as a Scout

Atticus Leveck, 16, a 10th-grade student at Springs’ Magnolia Student Center, is celebrating his 10th anniversary as part of the Scouts BSA.  He first joined as a Tiger Cub Scout at age 6, his mother Anastasia said, because “he has always loved the outdoors and hands-on experiences.” Continue reading

Magnolia Hosts 1st Springs Speech Meet

Springs held its first Speech Meet at the Magnolia Student Center on March 5. The event gave participants the chance to practice public speaking while discussing a topic for which they have a passion. Magnolia Student Interns with Fire Department
