Abe Wilson, 13, is a Homeschool student with Springs’ Venture Online program. He is in the 8th grade, and has been attending Springs since 5th grade. His family chose the Venture Online program, he said, because his parents wanted “to keep me safe from COVID and bullies.” Since then, he continued, “I have grown to love the curriculum, which provides me with a plethora of free time to perform my extracurricular activities.”

Venture Online 1st grade student Westley Beyer is developing an encyclopedic knowledge of space and is an astronomer in the making. At age 3, he developed an interest in space after watching Toy Story and becoming fascinated with Buzz Lightyear. He studied extensively, and three years later, as Westley was taking his 1st grade test in reading and math, he proceeded to teach his 1st grade Venture Online teacher all about Saturn’s rain, lightning on the moon, the Arcturus, the tornado on the sun’s north pole and the gas giant, Jupiter.

Springs Venture Online student Sean Ower recently played the character Sweeney Todd in the musical “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” at Oklahoma City University. Sean has been performing in theater since age 8, as “it’s the thing that brings me the most joy.” He plans to continue performing in theater professionally when he completes school.

Taylor Wells, an 11-year-old who is part of Springs’ Venture Online program, is an accomplished young gymnast. She began with gymnastics at age 3, and today is an award-winning gymnast who trains with the Junior Olympics Gymnastics at levels 7 and 8.

Venture Online students Adalyn and Alayah Carter work as background talent for television programs. At age four, their mother signed them with Kids! Management, which describes itself as “the premiere background management company in Hollywood focused on coordinating the needs of casting directors [of minor children to] work on set as background talent for the entertainment industry.”

Mylabelle Miller, a 2nd grade student with Springs’ Venture Online Program, is becoming an accomplished equestrian. She rides with the Norco Equestrian Academy (NEA) and has come to enjoy horsemanship, riding, and the companionship of the horses. She has joined the NEA Gymkhana Team, in which participants learn to guide their horses through different patterns and receive points based on speed and accuracy.
