Hudson Downen is a 1st grade student with Springs’ Venture Online program whose flexible schedule allows him the opportunity to follow his passion—desert racing. He began racing at age two, following the example of his father, who is also a desert racer.
Hudson has participated in races all over California riding a KTM 50sx Mini. His races are about 10 miles or 2 to 3 miles per lap; he is now looking at competitions on the East Coast to enter. His family is grateful for the Venture Online program which allows him the opportunity to travel and compete.
Another notable Venture Online student is 8th grader Layton Camile, who uses the program’s flexibility to be a competitive figure skater. She has been competing for two years and has taken home many awards. She said, “Venture has really given me the flexibility and time to skate and train with my team and coach. It has also given me more time to spend with family and has relieved my stress about getting everything done on time, regarding my busy skating schedule. In all words, that’s all about me and my journey!”
