TSC Celebrates Peace Day

Springs’ Temecula Student Center (TSC) celebrated Peace Day, which has become a tradition, said Principal Valerie Walker. She explained, “International Peace Day has been established by the UN General Assembly, and is dedicated to promoting peace within communities, strengthening the ideals of peace, and fostering a culture of non-violence and ceasefire across the globe.”

Music Program Welcomes Donation of Instruments

August 17, 2023

Springs High School Music Program teacher Mr. Kenley Nakao is seeking donations of instruments for students to use to form music ensembles at school sites in Riverside, Temecula, and Hemet. Kenley joined the Springs staff in 2021 and is working to build a “robust” music department, however, some of his students are unable to afford instruments on their own As student groups form, they will perform at future Springs events.

Back-to-School Assembly Features Music Notes

September 15, 2022

Students at Springs’ Temecula Student Center participated in a back-to-school assembly featuring Music Notes, two Los Angeles teachers whom Principal Valerie Walker describes as people who “love making songs and videos to teach kids.” She continued, “The students enjoyed participating in songs about respect, math facts, and doing your homework.”

DaVinci Student Earns Taekwondo Black Belt

December 14, 2021

Danny Cheatham, a 4th grader with the DaVinci Academy at the Temecula Student Center, earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo. The 9-year-old is the youngest student in his Taekwondo School; he has worked the past four years to earn the black belt. The test took over seven hours, reported his father, Dan Cheatham, as part of a nearly 12-hour day that culminated in belt commencement ceremonies.

Colleges Recruit Springs Seniors

November 1, 2021

Springs seniors participated in a College Kickoff at the Temecula and Magnolia Student Centers with students receiving SWAG from Mt. San Jacinto and Riverside City Colleges. Students learned how to apply to college, FAFSA and financial aid. Continue reading
