RVA Thanks Sheriff’s Department

Springs’ Renaissance Valley Academy (RVA) delivered a hot chocolate gift basket for deputies at the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station. The Sheriff’s department “has been an indispensable partner in delivering quality service and support to the San Jacinto community” of which RVA is a part, said RVA Principal Hugo Ramos and the gift basket the school delivered is “a small token of the appreciation we have for all they do and for the commitment they have to ensure the safety of our students.”

Hemet Global School Play Day

Springs Summit Draws 900 Educators

February 9, 2023

Educators across Springs from Education and Student Services came together for a day of staff development during Springs’ 5th Annual SCS Personalized Learning Summit, reported Tamara Rose, Director of Professional Learning and Development. The summit was a time for educators to build relationships, network in their school/program communities, and get recharged for the remainder of the school year. Continue reading

Springs Staff Participates in CPI Training

Springs’ Pathfinder Resource Center has hosted two CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) trainings this year taught by Frank English.  Sixteen attended the most recent eight-hour training in February.  Its purpose, explained Mr. English, is “to learn to keep our students and staff safe.”

Bear River Mock Trial

January 13, 2023

Eighth-grade students at Springs’ Bear River Student Center held the mock trial ¨The People vs. Matsumoto: A Murder Trial.¨ In preparation students held mock trials for two other cases, then each class separately did their initial trials for practice before competing against each other. Parents, staff, and 7th grade students participated as jury members.

Del Rio Staff Builds Handball Wall

Principal Kim Ballantyne-Morse of Springs Del Rio Student Center reported that the school’s facilities team built a handball wall for students over winter break. She said, “Our students were excited and are looking forward to using it during recess.

February Student Artist of the Month

January 9, 2023

Emma Szuch, a 3rd grader with Springs’ Virtual Academy, is the Student Artist of the Month for February 2023. The young Upland resident likes to create art using colored pencils, crayons, and markers. She added, “Sometimes I like painting, too.”
