Springs is introducing an A-G approved Algebra 2 financial literacy class called Algebra in the World, reported math specialist Stephanie Fryfe. The students learn Algebra 2 concepts through a financial literacy lens. The student will explore systems of equations through planning for savings accounts and analyzing better loan programs.
They learn about taxes, 1040’s, W-4s, 1099’s, banking, overdraft fees, predatory practices, creating a budget, cost of living, 401k’s, stocks, home loans, maximizing business profits, and much more while learning their Algebra 2 California mathematical standards.
