Springs’ Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA) is launching a Model Aviation Student Club (MASC). The club will serve as a vehicle to teach students about science, technology, engineering, art and math, and how model aviation can transform from a hobby into a career in aviation. Students will also have the chance to serve in leadership positions in the club, which can further aid their future job prospects.
The MASC is an outgrowth of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, a world-class association of modelers organized for the purpose of promotion, development, education, advancement and safeguarding of modeling activities. Students will be provided a location on the grounds to fly their model airplanes.
