The four-member team LEGO – Lego Engineers Go On of the FIRST Lego League, which includes 6th grade Springs Homeschool students Zachary Hohertz and Chase Webb, took 1st place for Core Values at the Inland Empire Qualifying Tournament and the Reserve Championship for Gracious Professionalism at the Southern California Championships at Legoland.
As part of the league, the students must design, build and program a robot using Lego Mindstorms, discover solutions to problems they are given and then compete against other teams in regional tournaments. The LEGO – Lego Engineers Go On team also presented their project to the Norco mayor and city council.
Courtnie Wallace, Chase’s Homeschool Education Specialist, said, “We are so proud of Chase and his teammates and their continued success and accomplishments.”
Chase’s mom, Wendy Webb, serves as team coach. The team will next compete in August.
