Online CTE Intro to Photography student, Emerson (Emmy) Schneider, was recently selected as one of the 25 Most Remarkable Teens by the Riverside Youth Council and the Police Department in Riverside.
Nominated by her CTE Media & Design Arts teacher, Robin Luther, Emmy attended the ceremony on April 25th at City Hall. In her nomination letter, Mrs. Luther said of Emmy, “…at just fifteen years of age, Emerson (Emmy) Schneider has already written, and started to implement her own business plan in freelance photography and design. She’s already taken on paid clients, and the only thing holding her back is that she’s waiting to get her driver’s license this summer so that she can more easily travel for photo shoots! Emmy has confidence and a strong artistic vision. Her portraits, fashion, and lifestyle photographs can compete with any high-fashion magazine or blog out there. Aside from her freelance photography work, Emmy is an intern at IVC Cabinet, where she acts as photographer, social media, and website manager, and has even done design consulting. She also spends time each week as a kindergarten classroom teacher’s aide. Emmy is already a standout student in the Arts, Media and Entertainment CTE (Career Technical Education) Pathway. She has excelled in two college-level articulated courses so far, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA all around. Her creative and entrepreneurial journey in Riverside has just begun!
