Rebecca Blythe (Yanez), 17, is a FAPA senior who is a four-year cancer survivor, and plans on going to medical school after college to become a pediatric oncologist.
Her goal is to give children with cancer “that hope that is not always there.”
She has attended Springs since 7th grade. After graduation, she will attend UC Riverside as a biochemistry major.
Rebecca is grateful for her Springs education, she said, for the exposure it’s given her to the medical field and the dedication of the FAPA teachers. The program especially impressed her, she said, because of the “one-on-one time each teacher is willing to give to students when they need it the most.”
Away from school, Rebecca likes to read and has helped present health fairs for students. She also enjoys teaching younger children at her church.
