Bear River Raises Funds to Install Marquee

Bear River students participated in an APEX fundraiser and raised $46,000, half of which goes to the school. TK-6 students participated in a Fun Run while middle school students battled it out at a Color Battle (pictured is Principal Shane Wickwire participating in the Color Battle).

The funds raised will be used for a new electric marquee at the front of the school. Program Facilitator Dontae Jelks took a leading role in organizing the event. Other recent school fundraisers included one at Chipotle, which brought in another $300 for the school.

Other Bear River news includes the effort at building Vice Principal Renee Gooding’s Bear River Garden, which includes plants, painted rocks and pallets, scarecrows, a water bottle wall greenhouse and more. The school is also preparing for a Christmas choir performance with students performing A Christmas Line, adapted from A Chorus Line.
