The Santa Ana Student Center celebrated Kindness week, reported Principal Priscilla Doorbar, “encouraging students to reflect on how kindness can create a better world.”
Among the week’s highlights, she said, “was the creation of a collaborative chart on which students listed kind acts, such as helping a classmate, sharing a smile, or giving compliments, and described how these actions made people feel: happier, more connected, and appreciated.”
In addition to the chart, students participated in activities like writing anonymous “kindness notes” to peers, in which they expressed gratitude or offered positive words of encouragement. They also brainstormed new ideas for spreading kindness, such as creating kindness cards to hand out to strangers or organizing a community cleanup event. Priscilla continued, “The week not only helped students think about how small acts can make a big difference but also reinforced the idea that kindness, no matter how simple, can create a ripple effect in making the world a better place.”
In other Santa Ana Student Center news, the Center held an award ceremony honoring students for their hard work, dedication, and positive contributions to their school community. Priscilla noted, “The event was filled with excitement as students were recognized for achievements in academics, kindness, leadership, and extracurricular activities.”
