Western Science Center

Visit the Western Science Center, home of the Pacific Mastodon, in Hemet, CA! WSC is one of the largest natural history museums in Riverside County and serves California’s Inland Empire and beyond. Join us as we discover the past, explore the present, and promote a more sustainable future while preserving our region’s ancient history!

Ticket Purchase Includes:

  • The Discover Lab: 20-minute activity. Individual lab trays give each student the opportunity to sift through a matrix to search for and identify real marine fossils (e.g. shark teeth) using tools such as brushes, tweezers, magnifying glasses, and screens.
  • The fossils are 100% real and remain the property of WSC.
  • Self-guided visit: 2:15 pm-4:00 pm
  • Access to the Museum Store.

Important Information:

  • Late registrations or refunds will NOT be processed after the closing date. No Exceptions.
  • Special Guidelines: Space is limited; first come, first served. Limit one adult per family.
  • Open to all grades: K-12th.
  • Only guests ages four and above may attend the discover Lab due to security purposes. 
  • Free Parking
  • All Students must be accompanied by a registered adult. 
  • Note: If you have multiple Homeschool students, each Homeschool student must be registered for all Field Trips using their designated flex fund account. Duplicate orders for the same field trip on one student’s account will not be allowed.
  • No more than 10 students shopping in the store at one time with an adult.
  • Beverages and snacks may be available in the store but must be consumed outside of the Museum building.

Additional Details:

  • Field Trip Photography Disclaimer: Be advised that photographs will be taken at this event for possible use on the Springs Charter Schools website, marketing materials, and all other SCS publications. If you do not want you or your child to be photographed, please advise the Field Trip Coordinator.

How to Cancel: Forward your registration confirmation email receipt to Field Trip Coordinator with a detailed notation to cancel by the deadline date indicated on each field trip.
