Museum of Tolerance (5th/6th Grade)

The Museum of Tolerance is a human rights laboratory and educational center dedicated to challenging visitors to understand the Holocaust in both historical and contemporary contexts and confront all forms of prejudice and discrimination in our world today.

STEPS TO TOLERANCE is a unique, interactive, educational experience designed for 5th & 6th-grade students; It provides an age-appropriate introduction to Holocaust history and discusses current issues, including school bullying. This 2.5-hour program takes place entirely in the museum’s Youth Action Lab. Students act as “Explorers” as they connect historical events to contemporary issues of respect and responsibility at school and in the community. Students will meet a Holocaust survivor and hear personal testimony, examine Holocaust artifacts & photographs, and view a shortage-appropriate documentary about the Holocaust. Do not miss this one-of-a-kind experience! Click HERE for the complete program.
