Did you know that Ice Age Los Angeles was home to some of the most fearsome predators to ever walk the planet? Dire wolves short-faced bears, and saber-toothed cats all called this area home from 11 to 55 thousand years ago. This Homeschool Day will explore the lives of these amazing carnivores: how they hunted, what their social groups were like, and what we can learn from their fossil remains.
They may offer special experiences and programs in the mornings on Homeschool Days.
To pick up tickets for these special program experiences, check in with a La Brea Tar Pits School Programs representative at the Welcome Table when you arrive. Tickets will be free and distributed on a first-come, first served basis.
LUNCH & SNACK You may bring a lunch safely secured in a backpack, however, they ask that all food (except water and baby formula) be consumed outside the facility. You are invited to picnic in Hancock Park, or on the picnic benches in front of the museum. You will also notice lots of restaurants right nearby on Wilshire Boulevard.

Important Information:
- No late registrations or refunds will be processed after the closing date. No Exceptions
- No use of membership passes.
- Recommended for grades TK-5th, however open to all ages.
- All Students must be accompanied by a registered adult.
- Note: If you have multiple Homeschool students, each Homeschool student must be registered for all Field Trips using their own designated flex fund account. Any duplicate orders for the same field trip on one student’s account will not be allowed.
