MATH MADNESS ONLINE TEAM-BASED COMPETITION
Calling all Springs’ Students grades 3rd-12th! Math Madness is an online, team-based competition event enabling students to compete in weekly competitions. The head-to-head competitions are a thrill and get students excited about math.
The exact start date will be determined by AretaLabs in late Fall. Each match includes 7-8 multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions. The team score is calculated by summing the top 5 individual scores. Content at the high school level is primarily aligned with AMC 10/12, at the middle school level with AMC 8, and at the elementary level with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
Students are able to compete from home but must compete at the same date/time as the team. We will meet by Zoom, and students will be grouped by grade level and will be able to collaborate with each other on the problems. Each competition lasts 30 minutes long. Teams will be sorted by Elementary, Middle School, and High School Divisions.
We are looking for students to form an Elementary School Team (3rd – 5th) and a Middle School Team (6th-8th) as well as High School. Please register. We will reach out with full details at the end of January.
