Time | All graduates must arrive for check-in and rehearsal by 12:00 p.m.
|
Ceremony | Doors will open for seating at 1:00 p.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will last approximately 1 ½ hours. Please take into consideration that the overflow parking areas may require a few minutes of walking to actually get to the summit Ballroom, so give yourself plenty of time to arrive. |
Tickets | There are seats available for approximately 2,500 in the ballroom, so no tickets are necessary, and graduates are welcome to bring as many guests as they would like.
|
Families | The ballroom doors will open at 1:00 p.m. for seating.
|
Dress Code |
All students are expected to arrive in their caps and gowns. In keeping with the dignity of the occasion, please wear comfortable yet somewhat dressy clothing under your graduation gown. Please refrain from wearing jeans or overly casual footwear when possible.
|
Shoes | We highly recommend comfortable shoes. There is a walk from the parking area, and the Summit Ballroom is large so we encourage you to refrain from high heels, large platforms, etc.
|
Additional Items | Once you check in and enter the student waiting room, you will not see your family members until after the commencement ceremony. Please make the necessary arrangements to give valuables such as purses or cameras to a family member before entering the student room. There will not be a place to store your items securely.
Students who are planning to borrow a sash or gown will pick those items up at registration. Please bring your ID or something similar to leave with the registration desk.
|
Cap & Gown | All students are expected to wear a black cap and gown with the coordinating sash and tassel representative of their program. Be sure to iron/steam the gown and sash ahead of time (no one looks good in a wrinkled gown).
If you have reserved a cap and/or gown to BORROW from Springs, you will be picking them up on the day of the ceremony. Please arrive on time by 12:00 p.m. so that you have time to get your cap and gown on. You should have already provided your height to springs.graduates@springscs.org so that we can set the appropriate-sized gown aside for you. There are many economical choices available to purchase caps and gowns online. This is an example of a cap and gown you can purchase on Amazon for approximately $30: https://rb.gy/xipw7 If purchasing a cap and gown presents a financial hardship, you may be able to borrow a cap and gown on the day of the ceremony. Quantity is limited. Please email springs.graduates@springscs.org. Students may decorate the top of their cap only, and it must be done tastefully. ALL decorations MUST lay FLAT on the cap. Nothing can lay perpendicular, thus allowing us to see the decoration beyond eye level. Nothing can hang from any side of the cap. Your cap cannot make noise, such as bells or horns. Cap designs must be school-appropriate and cannot include offensive language or derogatory names/statements. If you aren’t sure that your decoration idea is going to be allowed, pick a different decoration 😉
|
Photos | There will be an official photographer at the ceremony taking pictures as students leave the stage. Those photos will be available for purchase after the ceremony. You will receive an email with instructions on how to select digital images as well as professional prints.
Please be sure that you have a photo release on file prior to May 23rd so that you don’t miss out on this opportunity. You can complete the photo release at www.SpringsCS.org/photo-release. Contact Student Records at 951-252-8811 with any questions about the photo release.
|
Diploma | Your diploma will be issued and mailed once all graduation requirements are fulfilled and verified.

Ceremony Etiquette |
Commencement is both a joyous and solemn event. Graduates have worked hard to achieve this goal and we want to make certain that each student has his or her “moment in the sun.” We request that each graduate, as well as family and friends, respect the dignity of the ceremony for all involved. Please be courteous to the other families/graduates by keeping conversation/applause during the ceremony to a minimum – we don’t want anyone to miss the calling of their graduate’s name.
Please express your excitement in ways that will not prevent others from hearing the speaker and enjoying the ceremony. The use of air horns and excessive yelling is prohibited. If you are bringing balloons or anything that will obstruct the view of others (and our roving camera team), please know that you will be asked to place the balloons at the back of the room or keep them below the level of the seat backs. Please remain in your seat. As students cross the stage, they will stop to take a professional photo and then proceed back to their seat. At no time will family/friends in attendance be permitted to interfere by stopping their student for pictures, hugs, etc. There will be staff available immediately following the ceremony to assist families with taking photos on your phones throughout the ballroom. Additionally, please make every effort to stay for the entire ceremony, as early departures can be very disruptive. |
If you have any questions, please use the form below and we will respond as quickly as possible.
Congratulations!
