Janine Betancourt

Academy Teacher

Education

– I Graduated from Cal-State University of Fullerton in 2004 and received my teaching credential in English Language Arts.
– I finished my internship at Anaheim H.S., Orange County, and was hired to work the summer in the ELD Department, teaching sophomores.
– In 2006 I began my first teaching assignment at John Glenn H.S., Los Angeles County, teaching high school English Language Arts and Adult Education.
– My family relocated to Riverside County, and we now call it home. In 2007, I was offered employment with Menifee- Perris District. I worked with juniors and seniors teaching English Language Arts and Linguistics for two years.
– In 2009, I came on board with Springs Charter School and was able to experience working with middle school students. I taught English Language Arts and Art History.
-Beginning 2010, we began the MET Model, now Real World Academy, and was given the opportunity to lead the first graduating class, teaching Humanities English I, II, III and IV, Social Sciences and Facilitating Internships.

– Family time

– Learning to play the violin
– Must experience the outdoors, hiking, biking, camping…

I’m in a choir and performing arts group.
Being a mariachi is on my bucket list.
It’s important to laugh, so I make it a habit to be goofy with my family!
