I have been in education for 26 years, teaching and leading in Tk-12 schools. I am passionate about fostering and empowering student voice. I received my doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2018 with a focus on supporting Long- term English Learners.
Some of my favorite hobbies are cooking, working out, journal writing, wine tasting, and traveling with my husband. You will find me outdoors when I can, at the beach or local mountains because being out in nature is my happy place.
I read all sorts of books so I have lots of favorites depending on the genre. I am currently reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. Some of my favorite authors currently are Brene Brown and Adam Grant.
When I was a student I loved English class, particularly writing. I also enjoyed art and music, playing flute in the orchestra and band all through my school years.
I love coffee and conversations because I always want to learn new things. I love Snoopy, flair pens, and hand written cards and journals. I also believe any problem can be solved cooking a great meal or baking with friends. I want to travel the world and will take all suggestions big or small on where to travel next.
