Revolving Substitute
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from California State University San Marcos in 2014. My degree was a Social Science degree with a primary in Psychology and secondary in Sociology and History. For several years I worked as a testing proctor for ETS Testing Services for incoming college freshman. Since December, I have been working at Palm Academy as an Instructional Aide with all grade levels. It was amazing to get to know each student and work with them. Each student is so different and that is what I like. Since Palm Academy is a small campus you really get to know each and every student by working closely with them in the classroom. As an Instructional Aide I was not only with them in the classroom but also on the playground, I got to enjoy the students in many settings. I didn’t just make a difference in the student’s lives but they made a difference in mine too.
I love that Palm Academy is a small campus. I enjoy teaching at Palm Academy because of the small classroom setting, being able to have more one-on-one time with each student helps them achieve their personal educational learning. One of my strengths is to be a motivator. It is my passion as an educator to see every student succeed in life. I do not only see this as my job, I like to get to know what each student is interested in and then motivate them to do well in school. Getting to know the students on a personal level also allows me to plan towards their future goals as well. As a close unit of staff, Palm Academy does a wonderful job with working together to help each student succeed in every way possible.
When I am not working at Palm Academy, I enjoy cooking for family and friends. Cooking has always been a passion of mine and I do it all the time. One day I hope to open my own restaurant and share my cooking with the rest of the world. When I am not cooking, you can find me out couponing. I love going out and getting wonderful deals by saving money. Many people tell me I should sign up for the Extreme Couponing show. Another fun thing I like to do is traveling. Exploring new places with family and friends is what I enjoy the most. New city, new experience. There is a lot to see out there in the world. For my next trip I would like to go on is to the Bahamas to the Pig Beach. Yes, pigs are swimming in the ocean, what an experience that will be!
