Class of 2014
Hi, my name is Derrick Whitlatch. I am twenty years old and I attended Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy. One of my biggest accomplishments in my life so far has been graduating from high school. I am now attending Crafton Hills College, working toward my degree and license as an EMT- Fire Fighter. Attending Flabob was the best thing that has happened to me because everyone is willing to talk to each other and the teachers are very hands-on with the students. Other than school, cycling is my passion. I love to ride every day. I became an amateur professional rider when I was still in high school and my long time goal is to race in the Tour De France. In the next couple of weeks, my team mate and I are going to start training for the 508 race. We will cycle 508 miles as fast as we can, racing day and night. This will be the hardest race that I have done so far. However, it’s very different from a race like the Tour De France, where you have time to rest at night. I would like to thank all my friends and family that have supported me though my early years of growing up. I would also like to send a big shout out to the Flabob teachers and staff that helped me get to where I am today – thank you!“Don’t Limit Your Challenges’’ “Challenge Your Limits”
