Springs’ Enterprise Learning Center in Temecula has launched its first of many Sensory Pathways near the TK/KN room on the first floor, reported Homeschool Principal April Jacoby. She said, “A big shout out to Instructional Aide Alyssa Urrea for her wizardry with the Cricut® cutting machine. The second-floor teachers can’t wait for the addition of another Sensory Hallway upstairs.”

Springs’ Enterprise Resource Center’s Learning Center held the championship game of its Four Square Tournament with students grades 1-8 participating. Students Caleb Lum and Lincoln Guzman won the tournament, and Mr. Nacho, the site custodian, presented them with awards.

Teacher Jennifer Graham offers a Space Exploration Class to 3rd through 6th-grade students at Springs’ Enterprise and Otay Ranch Learning Centers. In one lesson, for example, she demonstrates how protecting an egg relates to real-world challenges faced by engineers who design things like bike helmets, space crafts, and Mars landers. The students worked with partners to design a “landing craft” that protected their “Eggstronaut” while taking flight from the two-story story balcony of the Enterprise building. Students tested to see if their invention worked and wrote about the results.

Throughout the month of February, Springs Enterprise Resource Center students made Valentines for Vets and deposited them into the Center’s special mailbox to be sent to a Veteran’s Administration hospital for distribution.

Homeschool students taking Learning Center classes at Springs’ Enterprise Resource Center enjoyed a Celebration of School Choice Week. Students participating in the Center’s Write into the Future and Leap into Literature classes wrote down and shared why they love being part of Springs and received School Choice Week stickers and bracelets.

Marla Martindale, Springs’ Director of Learning Centers, expressed her gratitude to the Facilities Department for helping improve traffic flow during after school pickup times at the Enterprise Resource Center. Facilities created signage which designated two pickup lanes instead of one, which helped move vehicles at a faster pace and kept them from blocking driveways on Enterprise Circle.
