Homeschool 7th Grader is a Gifted Violinist

Homeschool 7th-grade student Elliott Dahl is a gifted young violinist. He has been playing since age 6, and performs with the Temecula Conservatory of Music orchestra. He likes both classical and contemporary music; his favorite piece is Vivaldi Summer because of its fast pace. Continue reading

New Springs Homeschool Learning Center in Sherman Oaks

Springs has opened a new Homeschool learning center in Sherman Oaks. The center offers a 3-day a week Homeschool experience, with an optional 4th day STEAM program. It currently serves grades K-5, and will add a grade next year to eventually serve grades K-6. Students will engage in a variety of hands-on projects and enjoy small group instruction. FAPA Receives $24,400 Grant to Encourage Aviation Careers

Springs’ Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA) in Riverside was awarded a $24,400 American Airlines Flight Education grant to encourage students to consider careers in aviation, specifically becoming pilots. The funding will be used to provide students with a tour of Boeing aircraft manufacturing facilities, for the purchase of remote control airplanes, for flight lessons and a tour of Coast Flight Training flight school in San Diego. Magnolia Student Interns with Fire Department

Homeschool Brothers Improve Springs Site for Eagle Project

Homeschool triplets Kevin, Michael and Jason Lanier, age 16, did their Eagle Scout project at Springs’ Enterprise Resource Center. The trio have been in the scouts since age 9, and have homeschooled with Springs for their entire education, and see the project as “the culmination of a lot of hard work, and something the vast majority of scouts don’t achieve,” said father Jason Lanier.
