Journey National Signing Day, Senior Plans for Career in Law Enforcement

Journey’s Class of 2025 participated in the first annual National Signing Day designed for seniors planning to attend a university, community college, trade school, or the military. This day celebrates years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, as students were recognized for their academic, athletic, and personal achievements, reported Erin Riley, vice principal. Students signed a commitment certificate, took a photograph, and signed the Class of 2025 banner.

FAPA Students Learn About Drones

The middle school drone team at Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA) has been working with CTE teacher Bernard Hamill to learn about drones, including how they fly and how they can be used to take photographs and video, reported Tiffany Daniels, vice principal/TOSA. Venture Student is a Successful Golfer

Emily Smittipatana, a 7th-grade student in Springs’ Venture Online program, is a talented golfer. In April, she earned 3rd place at the Catalina Junior Golf Tournament; she hopes to compete in the Toyota Junior Golf Cup when she’s in high school.

Palm Academy Carnival Teaches Business Skills

Springs’ Palm Academy held a STEAM-based entrepreneurship Carnival designed to teach students real-world business skills, reported teacher Michelle Pantoja. As part of the event, which was organized by teacher Alma Felipe, students created their own business or store, developed an inventory, managed a budget, applied for a loan, and designed marketing materials such as flyers and logos. The goal of the Carnival was to maximize one’s profits.

School Leaders Honored During Principal Appreciation Week

Springs’ principals and vice principals were honored during Principal Appreciation Week in May. Each leader was presented with a certificate highlighting the Springs core value their peers felt best describes them, including “Actions Match Words” meaning “We align our practice with our mission and goals. We keep our promises and we share the whole truth with our community” and “Student-Driven” meaning “Students come first at Springs. We empower students by putting them in the driver’s seat for their educational journey. All decisions we make support helping students thrive.”

226 Enjoy Junior/Senior Prom

April 29, 2025

Springs hosted its annual Junior/Senior Prom at Hawk Ranch in Murrieta, reported Nikkole McAdoo, events and community engagement coordinator. Its theme was “Some Enchanted Evening”; 226 students participated. Students danced on an LED light-up dance floor, enjoyed dinner and non-alcoholic “mocktails”, captured memories at a 360° photo booth and an LED inflatable booth, and had the chance to sit in an “enchanting carriage.”
