Tanner Levasseur, 11, is proud to be a dancer. He has just completed the 4th grade at the Hemet Quest Academy. He lives in Sun City.
Tanner has been dancing since age 2 ½ at the Dancer’s Studio in Hemet. He trains in the styles of tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, gymnastics, musical theater, ballet and most recently pointe. During the past five years, as part of the Dancers’ Studio Competition Team, he has competed with solos in tap, contemporary, voice and acting, small and large group dance, production numbers and musical theater numbers. In February, he represented RSCS by performing his song-and-dance number “Put on a Happy Face” at the Red Carpet Event at the Fox Theater in Riverside. Dance is a family affair; his sister, Ashley, is also a dancer.
He joined Hemet Quest Academy in the 3rd grade. Springs’ flexible schedule has been accommodating and helpful with his dance schedule. He also noted, “The faculty and staff are really nice.”
His favorite subject is history. His goal in life is to perform on Broadway. He said his heroes include Frank Sinatra, Donald O’Connor, and Gene Kelly “because they are classic triple threat performers.”
Every day after school he heads to the dance studio. He explained, “I love performing dancing, singing, and acting!”
