Seventy students and their families gathered for Springs’ annual All School History Day and Science & Engineering Fair at our Temecula Event Center. This event showcased the top projects from our regional sites and programs, offering students a chance to compete for advancement to county and state-level competitions.
The National History Day theme was “rights and responsibilities in history.” Thirty-five students participated, presenting 24 projects. A highlight was Henry VIII and His Wives by Bear River students Kyleigh Gonzales, Adelina Rocha, Isela Monge, Joseph Campas, and Zoey Newton, 8th-grade students from our Bear River Student Center.
The following students advanced to the Riverside County level competition:
Elementary Division: Mia Solorio, 5th grade (Homeschool), and Kaitlyn Gunnell, 5th grade (Homeschool).
Junior Written Category: Noah Ramirez, 8th grade (Bear River); Jaydalynn Gutierrez, Liam Alfred, and Lola Griffin, 8th grade (Bear River); Odessa Heer, 8th grade (Bear River).
Junior Media Category: Jaydon Ashton, 6th grade (Homeschool); Erick Porter and Johnny Amagrande, 8th grade (Bear River); Kyleigh Gonzales, Adelina Rocha, Isela Monge, Joseph Campas and Zoey Newton, 8th grade (Bear River).
Winners in our Science and Engineering Fair included:
Elementary Division (Science): Kaelyn Lutz, 5th grade (Homeschool), Jorge Garcia, 4th grade (Bear River), and Gabriel Sosa, 5th grade (Magnolia).
Junior Division (Science): Naomi McAllister, 6th grade (Riverside Student Center), Dara Short and Valerie Gonzalez, 7th grade (Bear River), and Erick Porter, 8th grade (Bear River).
Junior Division (Engineering): Jedidiah Thomas and Aiden Anderson, 7th grade (Bear River); Carsten Chu, Karissa Chu, Gwendolyn Aranda, 7th grade (Corona Student Center); Eli Woodson, 8th grade (Bear River).
