Museum of Tolerance (Ages 12+)

The Museum of Tolerance is a human rights laboratory and educational center dedicated to challenging visitors to understand the Holocaust in both historical and contemporary contexts and confront all forms of prejudice and discrimination in our world today.

Students in this program journey receive a different photo passport card with the story of a child whose life was changed by the events of the Holocaust. Throughout the guided 3-hour tour, the passport is updated, and at the end, the child’s ultimate fate is revealed. Students engage in state-of-the-art exhibits that will inspire them to learn from the past, engage in the present, and assume responsibility for the future. This is a field trip you will not want to miss!

During this program, students:

  • Tour the inspirational multimedia exhibit, Finding Our Families, Finding Ourselves – learn more about the exhibition here
  • Participate in a Quilt Activity identifying multicultural artifacts and discussing the importance of diversity acceptance and understanding
  • Research their family heritage through an introductory activity in our computer lab
