Student will have the opportunity to rotate between three fun and educaltional programs.

LUCY LOU MINE: An Adventures in the Lucy-Lou Mine takes place in the Mining Camp and includes an emphasis on Gold Rush history. Students climb down into the Lucy-Lou Mine to learn about earthquakes, plate tectonics, rocks, minerals and mining in a fun, hands-on fashion. Be ready to GET DIRTY! Areas of study include geology, engineering, geography, plate tectonics, earthquakes, archeology, fossils & fossil fuels and minerals.

WEIRD AND WACKY SCIENTIST: Experience out-of-this-world wonders at the Astronomy & Science Camp. The Weird and Wacky Scientist program focuses on physical science concepts. Students fire rockets, use atmospheric pressure to implode soda cans and much more!

A DAY AT THE RANCH: Mosey over to the Ranch Camp for a Day at the Ranch. This program includes an emphasis on California early settler history. Students explore the citrus grove, seasonal vegetable garden, visit our windmill and solar-powered well and learn about soil, compost, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, pollination, and the water cycle.

Each 1/2 day immersion program includes teambuilding challenge course & 1 zip line activity.

Important Information:

  • No late registrations or refunds will be processed after the closing date. No Exceptions
  • Special Guidelines: Space is limited. No use of membership/passes.
  • Recommended for 4th-8th; however, open to upper grades. No lower grades or small children. Adults do not have to pay if not participating.
  • Program end time: Approximately 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • All Students must be accompanied by a registered adult through PayPal.
  • Note: If you have multiple Homeschool students, each Homeschool student must be registered for all Field Trips using their own designated flex fund account. Any duplicate orders for the same field trip on one student’s account will not be allowed.
  • Field Trip Photography Disclaimer: Please be advised that photographs will be taken at this event for possible use on the SCS website, marketing materials, and/or all other SCS publications. If you do not want you or your child to be photographed please advise the Field Trip Coordinator.
  • How to Cancel: Forward your registration confirmation email receipt to field.trips@springscs.org with a detailed notation to cancel by the deadline date indicated on each field trip.
