Canaan Spranger, a Homeschool senior from Hemet, has been selected as Student of the Month by the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his performance in high school and overall achievements.
The 17-year-old first joined Springs in the 8th grade, and plans to study graphic design in college after he graduates this year. Springs has been a good fit for Canaan, he said, because it offered him “a better social environment” and the opportunity to “excel” at his own pace.
His interests outside of school include photography, reading, drawing, playing the drums and basketball. He works as a barista at Starbucks, and has interned at local photo studios.
Courtnie Wallace, his Education Specialist, has found Canaan to be an outstanding student. She remarked, “Canaan is a remarkable young man with tremendous character and a strong sense of self. I am continually impressed with his kindness towards others, academic integrity and desire to better himself both personally and academically. He is genuinely a well-rounded young man who I am fully confident will achieve greatness in his very near future!”
