Magnolia Enjoys Family Night Baseball

Springs’ Magnolia Student Center had a family night at the IE 66ers baseball game, reported Principal Jamie Seconda Martinez. The students were able to run across the outfield during the 7th inning stretch, and 5th-grade students Emilio Valdivia and Wolfie Twiss were able to race on the field. And 3rd-grade student Rhett Richardson was able to meet one of the players and touch home plate.

FAPA Students Spread Kindness Across Campus

Students at Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy had a great time participating in Kindness Week activities across campus! From Kindness BINGO to colorful rainbow sticky note messages and creative kindness rocks, students found meaningful ways to spread positivity and encourage one another throughout the week.

Del Rio Students Visit Animal Sanctuary

March 25, 2026
The Del Rio Student Center Leadership Club took a volunteer field trip to the Animal Savior Sanctuary in Perris, reported teacher Claudia McGinty. The students had the opportunity to interact with animals that had been rescued from difficult situations, including dogs, pigs, geese, goats, miniature horses, and donkeys.

Pathfinder Students Design Underwater Scene

March 20, 2026

The students at Pathfinder explored color theory, contrast, and creative expression by designing a glow-in-the-dark underwater sea scene, reported Emory Aranda, site coordinator. Through the use of fluorescent and neon materials on dark backgrounds, students demonstrated an understanding of how light and color interact to create visual impact.

ORAA Garden Build Day

Springs Otay Ranch Academy for the Arts (ORAA) held its first Garden Build Day, reported Tami Foster, site facilitator. Parents, students and staff worked together to transform part of ORAA’s outdoor space into a garden with eight larger planter boxes, which were built and donated by the Sebreros Family.

Magnolia Sports Off to a Strong Start

CIF Spring Sports at Springs’ Magnolia Student Center is off to a strong start, shared coach Tori Cantu. New additions to the program include a girls’ varsity softball with students from Springs’ Venture, Journey, and Pathfinder participating. There is also a varsity boys & girls track & field team, and a varsity swim team coached by an alumnus of Magnolia.

Magnolia, FAPA Spring Fling Draws 75

March 20, 2026

The Magnolia Student Center and FAPA enjoyed a Spring Fling dance in Hangar 16, which was decorated with images of flowers and butterflies, at the Flabob airport, reported Susie Carpenter, Magnolia program facilitator. Participants enjoyed dancing, a DJ, outside games, and snacks. A prom court king and queen were announced.
