From the Superintendent: New Principals

I hope you’re enjoying your summer. We’re busy at work here at Springs, preparing for the 2019-20 school year! We’ve hired new principals at three of our school sites, so I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to them.

E.J. Whitehead is our new principal at the Corona Student Center (CSC). Mr. Whitehead first began working at Springs in 2000; last year, he was CSC’s interim principal. He enjoys studying history, and in his early 20s he was a professional wrestler who went by the name “Archangel.”

Shawna Lewis is principal at our new Del Rio Student Center in Perris. She first came to Springs in 2007, and last year was vice-principal at our Flabob Academy. She likes to read historical fiction, and just finished remodeling her 940 square foot, 1930s house with her husband. She said, “We survived and love the finished result.”

Alyssa Branchaud-Warren is the new principal of our Otay Ranch School of the Arts Student Center, taking over for a retiring Philip Parks. She first came to Springs in 2010; last year, she was vice-principal at the Otay Ranch Center. She likes reading classic novels, and traveling with her family.

We’ll also be hiring a new principal for our Vista Student Center; we’ll announce who this person is shortly. Please enjoy the rest of your summer, and we look forward to having our students return to school in the upcoming weeks!
