Viviana Sage, 13, is a 7th-grade student at Springs’ Otay Ranch Academy for the Arts. She likes to draw with pencil and paper, paints and canvases. With drawing, she said, “I’m very cartoony but I love to shade. I highlight where the sun would hit on the character depending on what angle they are at, but also shade the dark spaces where the light wouldn’t hit.” When it comes to painting, she continued, “I’m no Bob Ross” when it comes to landscapes, “so I like to make abstract art with lots of colors. I like painting things you have never seen before.” She hopes one day to be a graphic designer.
