Springs’ Magnolia Student Center Site Facilitator Irma Herrera was selected to participate in the making of disaster preparedness videos targeted at California’s Indian tribes.
She says she has a “passion” for disaster preparedness and public safety issues and was recruited to make the English and Spanish-language videos by the Fire Services Training Institute to be used by iTEMA, an organization that helps tribes get ready for emergencies. The goal is to encourage tribal leaders to sign up for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and LISTOS.
