The 16-year-old has been performing in theater since age 9, is a member of the Temecula Valley Players and recently played Attila the Hun in an on-stage performance of The Addams Family.
The Temecula resident said, “Nothing else seems to matter once I am on stage. I can just forget about the world for a little bit and be whatever I want.”
He worries about “messing up” and embarrassing himself on stage, but this fear has a positive side in that “it motivates me to do even better.”
He hopes to attend New York City’s prestigious Juilliard School which trains students in the performing arts, and plans to audition for such talent-seeking television shows as The Voice and American Idol. Should a career in entertainment not work out, his fallback plan is to become a physician’s assistant.
Cosimo has attended Springs for four years. The school has been a good fit for him. He explained, “I love how personal Springs is. I truly adore how everyone is a family and how enjoyable the learning is. All of the teachers are amazing and are always there to help you learn and grow.”
Cosimo plays guitar and sings. Other interests include song writing, music editing and drawing. He is part of his school’s leadership team, serving as historian and soon heading up the school’s talent show.
Rebecca Fabozzi, assistant principal with the Temecula Student Center, noted that Cosimo maintains a 3.9 GPA, and is “a wonderful student … and a wonderful young man.”
