Homeschool Teen Heads Patriotic Group

Darren Gillick, 13, an 8th grade Homeschool student, is California state president of the Children of the American Revolution (CAR), a patriotic youth organization. A special focus of his group is to provide support for Mission 22, which provides treatment to veterans suffering from traumatic brain injuries, PTSD and/or suicidal ideations. He has raised more than $3,000 for Mission 22 through sales of a pin he designed as well as by soliciting donations. Continue reading

Homeschool Teen is a Talented Hockey Player

Springs 8th-grade Homeschool student Ezra Hendricks, 14, has shown a real talent for hockey. His team recently won the One Hockey California Tournament, with him being named “player of the game” in game 2, a hat trick in the championship game and MVP of the tournament. Continue reading

Venture Students on Year-long Trip Use U.S. Sites as Classroom

Venture Online students Avalon and Honor Martens, ages 8 & 6, have embarked on a year-long road trip with their photographer parents, Jess and Justin Martens, exploring the country and searching for the perfect place to call home. Venture Online is providing curriculum and support for the children as they travel, using the many different places they visit as their classroom. Continue reading

Rancho Cucamonga Center Volleyball, Spelling Bee

The Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center has started its volleyball season, with 22 students grades 4-8 participating. The team practices at the school site during the week, and plays games on a sand court at Riverside Park. Austin Arnett is serving as coach. Continue reading
