The Murrieta Student Center (MSC) back-to-school night was a success, reported Virginia Diaz, the program coordinator. It was the first such event at the site, and nearly every family in the school turned out. The school’s ASB raised funds by selling drinks and snacks, with funds to be used to pay the expenses of school dances.

Venture Online students Adalyn and Alayah Carter work as background talent for television programs. At age four, their mother signed them with Kids! Management, which describes itself as “the premiere background management company in Hollywood focused on coordinating the needs of casting directors [of minor children to] work on set as background talent for the entertainment industry.”

Mylabelle Miller, a 2nd grade student with Springs’ Venture Online Program, is becoming an accomplished equestrian. She rides with the Norco Equestrian Academy (NEA) and has come to enjoy horsemanship, riding, and the companionship of the horses. She has joined the NEA Gymkhana Team, in which participants learn to guide their horses through different patterns and receive points based on speed and accuracy.

Inez Valencia, Springs CTE Introduction to Photography and Digital Art and Design Teacher, won first place for a chalk art image of the Joker from the cover of the 1988 graphic novel “Batman: The Killing Joke” painted on the street for the Temecula Art & Street Painting Festival. She chose the image because “I am a fan of the Joker because of his dark humor. I was inspired by the comic cover ‘The Killing Joke’ because he holds a camera and I teach photography.
