Sofie Dossi, age 14, a Homeschool student going into 10th grade, is a cirque performer. She does contortion, hand balancing, aerial hoop, and silks.
Each event is different; sometimes she engages in special stunts, like flying in a harness as Tinkerbell. She previously partnered with a professional illusionist who performed magic and illusion alongside her contortion.
When she is hired for an event, she performs her own separate act. There are typically other performers who do their own specialty acts, too, and sometimes they team up for ensemble pieces which are choreographed together.
The Cypress resident performs at corporate events and private parties. One party, for example, was held at Sony Pictures Studios and had “an amazingly exquisite and elaborate Peter Pan theme.” She’s also performed for the Grammy’s After Party, the Los Angeles County Fair, the Los Angeles Auto Show, and the Los Angeles City Council’s revival of Broadway theaters in downtown Los Angeles entitled Bring Back Broadway. Her performances have taken her to Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Mexico City. This summer, she’ll appear on America’s Got Talent. Watch videos of her performances and see photos at her website.
