Springs’ Classical Community of Orange County’s Spring History Festival was a resounding success as participants “stepped back in time to the American Revolution,” shared Linda Larson, Homeschool director.
TK and Kindergarten students recited a part of the Declaration of Independence, 3rd through 5th presented a “wax museum” with autobiographies of key historical figures, and 1st, 2nd and middle classes presented information on Paul Revere, Betsy Ross and the origins of “Yankee Doodle.”
Linda expressed her gratitude to parents who helped present the event. She added, “Students loved the high-energy Paul Revere and musket-packing relays, experimented with secret messages in invisible ink, and learned about 18th-century fashion from the historical society. It was a truly special day of learning, community, and celebration.”
