Superintendent’s Message – January 2019

Happy New Year!  I hope you’re enjoying winter break and we look forward to your return to school soon.

It is my great pleasure to announce to you that Springs Charter Schools was awarded 4th place as a top workplace in the large employer category in the Inland Empire by the Riverside Press Enterprise, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, the San Bernardino Sun and the Redland Daily Facts.  The award was the result of an outside survey of Springs’ staff.

It reinforces what we already knew: We’re a great place to work!   When our staff is able to do what’s needed for kids, the employees are happier and so are our students.  And, we will be happy to advertise this accolade to our prospective employees.  For more information about the award, click here.

Thank you to all of our staff who completed these surveys, and for the amazing work you all do on behalf of our students and parents.

WORK EXPERIENCE EDUCATION

I’d also like to highlight the efforts of Judy Adair, our Work Experience Education Lead Coordinator, for her fine efforts in making our Internship/Work Experience Program a success. Work experience through a part-time job or internship is one of the many ways that Springs is helping prepare our students for successful careers.

One of our students in the program, Emrence Janes, recently sent a letter to Jeff Lawrence, Community Services Manager of the City of Temecula, inquiring about internship/volunteer opportunities.  Mr. Lawrence wrote back indicating how impressed he was with Emrence’s letter, which he described as “very professional and informative.”

He continued, “Thank you for taking the time and putting so much effort into your request.  This is a very good quality to have and it will take you far in life.  I can tell by the email that your parents and teachers are leading and teaching you important life lessons, so be sure to thank them for their guidance and support.”

Congratulations to both Judy and Emrence for their efforts, and I’d encourage any of our students interested in the Internship/Work Experience Program to contact Judy atjudy.adair@springscs.org.

Enjoy the remainder of your holiday, and we’ll see you back at school!
