Selah Gurkin, a 3rd grade student in Springs’ Venture Online Program, participates in All Star Cheer. The Buena Park resident likes competitive cheer, she said, because it “allows me to move around, be loud, and work with my team.”
She likes being a part of Venture, she said, because it enables her to do cheer and works better with the ADHD and a sensory disorder with which she has been diagnosed. She said, “Because of Venture I can take breaks when I need to and do my schoolwork in a way that works best for me. This year, I have been able to thrive in my academics and have been able to stay motivated to learn.”
