Alessio Sasso, 14, a 9th grader with Springs’ Venture Academy, is developing into an outstanding motocross racer. He hopes one day to go professional.
He said, “I love racing. I always have! It is very challenging and a lot of work, but it’s what I want to do.” Alessio began riding at age 3, and began his first races at age 6. He began racing competitively two years ago. He’s already brought home a number of awards. His next big race is a regional qualifying round for Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross Championships. He said, “Motocross is not an easy sport. It takes a lot of work and dedication and you have to love it.” His mother, Marisa, is grateful to Springs and Venture because the school has given Alessio the opportunity to pursue his passion. She said, “We needed to find a program that could accommodate his education and his passion of motocross. Throughout the year, he has grown not only academically but he has also grown as a rider. He has been able to maintain good grades and train for Loretta Lynn’s, which has been his dream.”
