Six Springs Career Technical Education (CTE) students traveled to San Bernardino Valley College to compete in the SkillsUSA Region 6 Technical Skills event, a regional competition representing over 100 technical and leadership skills contests.
The six competed against 1,400 students in their region. The Springs Entrepreneurship team included students Matthew Banks (Temecula Student Center), Christian Ortiz (Temecula Student Center), Miguel Rodriguez (KEYS program) and Salvador Villalpando (Pathfinder Student Center) who took home a bronze medal. They will advance to a state-level contest in April. The team was mentored by CTE business teachers Gina Rye and Rosario Marquez. The TV/Video Production team included Harvey Capua and David Heras (both Temecula Student Center) who took home a silver medal and will also advance to a state-level contest. The team was mentored by CTE performing arts teacher Robin Felix.
