Magnolia Teen Participates in CIF Cross Country

Jabez Macias, 14, a sophomore in Springs’ Renaissance Real World Academy at the Magnolia Student Center, went to CIF to participate in semi-finals for cross country. Twenty-six schools were represented; Jabez represented Magnolia, placing 42 out of 133 runners. Continue reading

KEYS Teen Competes in Figure Skating

Caleb Lofgren, 15, is a KEYS sophomore who has begun competitive skating this year.  Despite having only recently begun, he has progressed quickly, passing 10 U.S. figure skating tests within six months.  His coaches have included Tammy Gambill, who has since moved to Colorado Springs to lead the U.S. Figure Skating Olympic Team to Beijing in 2022. Magnolia 3rd Grader Participates in “Natural” Pageants

Ciaran Shaw, 8, is a 3rd-grade student at Magnolia Student Center who is a reigning queen for the Miss Norco pageant and a National Junior for the Miss Route 66 pageant. As her mother, Mary Shaw, explained, “These are ‘natural’ pageants that are judged on poise and presence as well as speaking and require quite a bit of community service.” Continue reading
