Lilly Addison, age 6, a Homeschool 1st grader who attends the Hemet Learning Center, helped rescue a man with a disability from a fire.
Lilly was playing in her room one weekend when she heard a bang and saw smoke. A neighbor’s car was on fire next to the house, putting the house at risk of going up in flames. She alerted her family who called the fire department. The fire department arrived in time to prevent the house from catching on fire; another five minutes, the firemen said, and the entire house would have been engulfed in flames. One of the residents who lived at the house is a man whose legs have been amputated at the knee and who would have had difficulty escaping a fire.
Lilly was interviewed by the Hemet News. Both the firemen and Hemet News dubbed her “Hero of the Day.”
