Springs’ Santa Ana Student Center (SASC) welcomed the Orange County Fire Department, Santa Ana unit. Principal Tricia Gallagher said, “Our students listened to the firefighters talk about what they do to keep people safe.”
Students watched a demonstration of how quickly a fireman can get on his gear and learned about different components of his fire safety protection. They were able to get a close look at a fire truck, handle emergency equipment and use a fire hose.
Ms. Gallagher said, “It was a great learning experience about an important resource in our local community. Everyone had a good time.”
The Del Rio Student Center TK-3 students also learned about the work of the fire department and fire safety, as representatives from the Perris Fire Department visited, reported Principal Kim Ballantyne-Morse.
