Springs Journey Homeschool students Paloma Vargas, Lily Sharp, and Gwyneth McIntyre performed in the Inland Regional Youth Theatre (IRYT) production of “A Toast to the Tony’s.” All have had extensive experience in theater performances, said their ES, Melinda Wickstrom.
Paloma began performing at age 5. She has been invited to dance with a pre-professional intensive program for ballet this summer. Upon graduation, Paloma would like to take dance at RCC and be involved with theater.
Lily has been involved with theater for 10 years. She also dances on a competition team with the Barre Dance Center in Riverside. Lily plans to continue to perform with IRYT and will continue to help out whether it’s assisting backstage, painting sets/props, or helping with choreography (her entire family is involved in IRYT).
Gwyneth began performing 10 years ago with The Grove Community Church and in “Annie” at age 6 with the IRYT. She is also a bassist and vocalist with Calliope, a band led by her older sister.
All three students have also been a part of Springs’ theater program. Paloma and Gwyneth took theater classes with teacher Raymond Ingram beginning in the first grade. Currently, they are all finishing their second year in CTE Curtain Call: Introduction to Theatre 1 & 2 and Book to Big Screen at Springs’ Pathfinder site.
