Thirty Homeschool and Academy students participated in the March Surfrider Foundation beach clean-up in Oceanside, and 12 in the Orange County Coastkeeper’s beach clean-up in Huntington Beach. The clean-ups are sponsored by the Springs National Honor Society, Tammy Jackson, Homeschool Director – Marketing Support, reported; the Society’s pillars are character, scholarship, leadership and service. Tammy said that 118 lbs. of trash were collected in Oceanside and 155 lbs. in Huntington Beach, and that “the students couldn’t believe the number of cigarette butts they retrieved.”
