Jac Adair

Class of 2008

Graduated from Homeschool

Jac Adair, 25, is a graduate of Springs Class of 2008. Today, she’s living in Woodland Hills and works as a special effects make-up artist, costume designer and creature/character designer.
She’s grateful for her Springs education: “We were able to incorporate my interest in costume design into my education which I enjoyed a great deal. I was able to create a design portfolio that helped me with scholarship money for college. My ES and parents were able to create fashion design courses for my transcript which also helped me get into college.” She continued, “My favorite part was the fact that I was able to take the classes that I did not like, and make them more interesting to me because we added my interest in art and design into the projects I did for my classes.”
Jac earned an AA from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in 2009, a BFA in Costume Design from the California Institute of the Arts in 2013, and a Certification in Special Effects from the Make-up Designory in 2014.
Regarding her education, she reflected, “My high school education taught me what I am capable of doing artistically because I was able to spend a significant amount of time practicing it. My college career refined my skills to the level it takes to make a living doing what I love to do.”
Her hobbies include comic books, cosplay, tea, history, shooting with her father, archery, blacksmithing and rock climbing. She also enjoys “watching terrible movies with my mom and sister, [and] finding random adventures with my boyfriend.” Click here to see samples of Jac’s work.
